Building Communities through Critical Access Hospital Design

Our team is celebrating a new project milestone as the new Mountainview Medical Center in White Sulfur Springs is steadily rising, bringing a long-awaited vision for rural healthcare in this area closer to reality. For a community that has worked tirelessly for better access to care, seeing this Critical Access Hospital take shape is more than just a construction milestone; it is a moment of hope.

From the very beginning, our team [accompanied by Salt Design] walked alongside the Mountainview Medical Center team as they explored what the future of healthcare in the area could look like. Their current facility needs updating after 70 years. We supported early planning by preparing PAR information, assessing the site’s feasibility, and helping the client design a multifunctional space that provides high-quality, convenient care for generations of families in the region. Rural communities deserve facilities that honor their resilience, and it has been an incredible privilege to help bring this one forward.

The new 45,800-square-foot facility merges hospital and long-term care services, offering vital healthcare closer to residents. It helps reduce travel times and improves access to trusted care. The facility features physical therapy, emergency services, surgery, imaging, a comprehensive clinic, laboratory services, 5 critical-access hospital beds, and 14 long-term care rooms, representing a significant investment in community health.

As Sletten Construction continues building, we remain by the client’s side, supporting contractor coordination and ensuring the project reflects White Sulfur Springs’ core values. Watching this facility emerge demonstrates how thoughtful design can change lives. We are honored to contribute to a project that will improve care, dignity, and connection for its residents.
