Job Captain

With nearly 20 years of experience in design technology and construction coordination, Nick Porro has spent his career turning complex ideas into precise, buildable solutions. He's a Revit expert and coordination specialist with strong technical fluency across model coordination, clash detection, robotic total station layout, and drone photogrammetry, all with a focus on delivering exactly what the owner needs.

Nick’s path to architecture started the way the best ones do. A high school encounter with AutoCAD revealed a natural instinct for drawing buildings, and in 2006 he began his career as a Drafter. Over the next 18 years, he grew steadily from Drafter to Job Captain to Revit Manager, becoming a go-to authority on BIM coordination, design technology, and field-to-model integration. Along the way, he built and managed Revit libraries and project templates, set up model coordination and clash detection workflows, and trained design, construction management, and field teams in Bluebeam and the full Autodesk Construction Cloud suite, including Docs, Design Collaboration, Model Coordination, and Build. He also translated architectural and civil models for precise field layout using a Trimble FieldLink robotic total station and conducted drone photogrammetry surveys to document site conditions before and during construction.

Before joining Infusion Architects, Nick expanded his expertise as a BIM Engineer, coordinating Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical models, running Navisworks-based clash detection with engineer and fabrication teams, and hosting coordination meetings with trade subcontractors. That experience deepened his ability to see how every element of a project fits together and what it takes to resolve conflicts before they reach the field.

At Infusion, Nick brings his owner-first mindset and technical depth to every project, typically joining during design development and using the Owner’s criteria as the compass for every decision. He believes the most important outcome is handing an owner exactly what they envisioned, and that strong relationships are what make that possible over the long term. He’s passionate about the growing role of artificial intelligence in architecture and project delivery, and he’s focused on advancing firm standards, improving efficiencies, and mentoring teammates.

Nick has called Northern Colorado home since 1998 and loves everything Colorado’s seasons have to offer. Outside of work, he’s a devoted husband and dad whose weekends revolve around family, soccer sidelines, and the kitchen, where he is on a serious mission to perfect his smoked brisket.
